Funeral services for James "Wes" Wesley Bowman, aged 83, of Lone Grove, are set for 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Lone Grove, officiated by Rev. Bill Black. Interment will follow at Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery in Ardmore, under the care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home, Wilson.

Wes was born on November 3, 1942, in Salinas, California, to Omer C. Bowman and Effie Evelina Bowman. He passed away on August 20, 2026, in Gainesville, Texas.

In 1964, Wes proudly joined the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam and earning an honorable discharge in 1968. On May 1, 1981, he married Mary LaCroix in Gainesville, Texas, and they enjoyed 45 years, 3 months, and 19 days of marriage. Wes had a distinguished career, working for AT&T as an Account Executive for 25 years, as the director for SODA for 19 years, and most recently for Lake Murray State Park for five years.

Wes is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Kelleya Cox and husband Keith of Eufaula, Charlie Bowman of Ardmore, and David McNatt and wife Kelly of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Chris Cox, Clint Cox, Carrie Tiger and husband Trent, Morgan McNatt, Meghan McNatt, and Madden McNatt; great-grandchildren, Grady, Graham, and Griffin Tiger; brothers, Zane Bowman, Donald Bowman and wife Pat, and Robert Bowman and wife Barbara; sister, Debbie Choate; and many cherished family members and friends.

Pallbearers will include Keith Cox, Charlie Bowman, David McNatt, Clint Cox, Rod Tipps, and Derek Hallum. Honorary bearers are Zane Bowman, Donald Bowman, Robert Bowman, Debbie Choate, Bob McClendon, Harold Newman, Charlie Newman, Steve Kelsey, Mike Barron, Alen Fite, and the men of the 8th Radio Research Field Station.
