Graveside services for Janet “Jan” Gayle (Hood) Copeland, 81, of Fort Worth, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

Jan was born August 17, 1944, at McKinney, TX, to the late Mr. Homer Lee Hood and Mrs. Mozelle (Sanders) Hood. She departed this life May 17, 2026, in Fort Worth, TX.

In her youth, Jan found joy in roller skating, delighting in the freedom of movement and mastering various tricks with grace and enthusiasm. Her career journey led her through several roles, but primarily she served as an Administrative Assistant in the construction industry. She had a remarkable typing speed—exceeding 100 words per minute—a testament to her skill and commitment. Jan’s love extended beyond her work to the animal world; she had a unique gift for connecting with creatures, especially cats, which she could train with a patience and gentleness few could match. She married Mr. Kenneth Lee Copeland on June 12, 1992, in California. Jan's nurturing spirit blossomed through her love of houseplants and gardening, interests she inherited from her mother. Jan’s culinary abilities, though sometimes modestly regarded by herself, were appreciated and enjoyed by those around her. Above all, Jan was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose love for her family was steadfast and abiding. She cherished her husband, children, and grandchildren deeply, finding joy and fulfillment in their presence. Friends were likewise a source of happiness for Jan, with whom she shared many treasured times.

Visitation will be held beginning at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, prior to service.
