LONE GROVE

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Jeffrey Paul Brace, 63.

Jeff was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and a cowboy at heart. Growing up with four brothers and a sister—all within eight years of one another—the Brace family moved frequently. As a result, we always had built-in friends, no matter where we went.

Jeff was an avid athlete who played every sport, most notably football, continuing into college, where he and his high school and college buddies were second to none in toughness. Yet it was his zany sense of humor that truly set him apart. Many times, the Brace children could be found reciting lines from Monty Python and Mel Brooks movies as the years went by.

After college, Jeff worked in an office, but the outdoors soon called to him. He pursued his love for the West by attending farrier school in Montana and working on a ranch in Colorado. His journey later took him to Nebraska, Texas, and Oklahoma, where he continued to live out his passion. Jeff was a true cowboy who embraced the Western way of life, participating in rodeos and working on local ranches. Along the way, he met countless wonderful people—far too many to mention here.

Jeff is reunited with his father, David, and is survived by his mother, Marie; his brothers, Dave (Sharon), Steve, John (Andrea), and Jim (Doug); his sister, Michelle (Bill); and many nieces and nephews who loved and looked up to their cowboy uncle. We also can’t forget his faithful dog, Luke.

Jeff will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will share service and arrangement information at a later date.

Until then, we know you have a great Jeff story (everyone does!), so sit back, grab your favorite drink, and share it with us on Facebook.

Love you, Jeff. You will forever be in our hearts.
