Jerry Glen Sosebee

Services for Jerry Glen Sosebee, 85, Saturday October 3, 2026, at Ratliff City Baptist Church, with Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery, Duncan OK. 

Jerry was born November 11, 1940, to the late Thomas Oscar Sosebee, and Mrs. Thelma Oscar (Pickens) Sosebee. He departed this life on September 28, 2026.

Jerry Glen Sosebee attended school at Velma Oklahoma. He graduated with the class of 1957. He was in FFA and he loved playing football and baseball. He attended Murray State College. He helped coach peewee baseball in Velma. After college he got a job in the oilfield. He worked as a roustabout, pumper and gang pusher for Skelly, Getty, Texaco, and Chevron. He later married Marquietta Franklin, June 25, 1977. They made their home in Ratliff City. He enjoyed prison ministry for 21 years. The last few years of his life was spent with his daughter Vicki and his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. After a long battle with dementia and other health issues he moved to Elk Crossing Nursing Home. He wanted to be close to his daughter.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Tom and Thelma Sosebee; wife, Marguietta Franklin Sosebee; brother, Larry Sosebee; grandsons, Joe and Michael Alexander.

Survivors include his daughter, Vivki DeAnne (Sosebee) Wood and husband Johnny of Duncan; grandchildren, J.D. Alexander and wife Kathy of Colorado Springs, Megan Thompson and husband Cody of Loco, Madison Alexander of Duncan, Lesley Heenan and husband Brian of Duncan, Ashley Farmer and husband Eric of Tomball, TX; great grandchildren, James Alexander III, Addie Thompson, Breslynn Holt-Scott, Bellamy Heenan, James, Joe, and Tim Farmer, numerous other family, and friends.

Pallbearers will be JD Alexander, Bryan Heenan, Cody Thompson, David Gayanich, Eddy Ruth, and John Wood.

Honorary bearers are the men of Ratliff City Baptist Church, former oilfield brothers and friends, and Greg Hendrix.

Visitation will be held from 5-6 P.M., Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Velma Chapel.
