Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Joe Elton Roberts, 90 of Ringling, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow to Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
Joe was born September 21, 1930 in Grady, OK to the late Mr. Henry Leonard "H.L." Roberts and Lota (Yeates) Roberts. He departed from this life on Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Duncan, OK.
Joe was raised in Grady and Oscar in his teen years attending school at Union Valley High School. He married the former Mrs. Bette Hudson on October 21, 1951 at her mothers, Mrs. Allie Gardner's homestead in Ringling, OK. They cherished almost 70 years of marriage together. Joe then enlisted in the United States Marines in 1952 serving honorably for two years. He worked within the Oilfield most of his life as a Division Manager from Houston, TX to Corpus Christi, TX before retiring in 1989. He then devoted all his time which was his true passion in life, farming and ranching, calling his ranch Seldom Rest Ranch. Joe had precise ways about him that he liked things done, down to his mechanic work, hauling hay, even driving his tractor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Bette; children, Joe Michael Roberts and wife Cindy, Laura Lynn Lussier and husband Rocky, Joe Shawn Roberts and wife Judy, and Bette Jo Koenig and husband Client; grandsons, Aaron Roberts, Ethan Roberts, Marcus Roberts, Brandon Roberts, David Lussier, Darren Lussier, Cord Koenig and Cade Koenig; granddaughters, Shawna Munson, Jennifer Bucher, Kelly Mifflin, and Meghan Roberts; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Gilbert and Barbara Horn; and by a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Aaron Roberts, Ethan Roberts, Marcus Roberts, Brandon Roberts, David Lussier, Darren Lussier, Cord Koenig, and Cade Koenig.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
