Milo - Karan Sue (Chatham) Godwin, 59, of Ardmore, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on October 3, 2025. She was born on July 16, 1966, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the late John Logan Chatham and Leta Charlene (Thompson) Chatham.

Services to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Milo Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Sanchez officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Pooleville Cemetery. The arrangements are entrusted to Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton. Everyone attending services are encouraged to wear OU colors or pink to honor Karan’s legacy. 

Karan grew up in Oil City and graduated from Healdton High School in 1984. On July 22, 1983, she married Randy Lynn Stephenson in Oil City, and they were blessed with five daughters. After the passing of her beloved husband, Randy, Karan pursued a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Mercy, dedicating her life to home health, hospice care, and serving as a school nurse at Jefferson Elementary in Ardmore. In her later years, she married Chris Godwin on January 17, 2014, at Milo.

Karan was known for her sense of humor, her love for cooking, and her joy in spoiling her grandchildren. A devoted fan of the University of Oklahoma, she cherished her family, and her love for God was evident in all aspects of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Randy Stephenson, brothers Charles Wayne and Donnie Chatham, son-in-law Brent Shepard, mother-in-law Lena Faye Stephenson, and cousin Kent Thompson.

Karan is survived by her husband, Chris Godwin, her daughters: Lindsay Stephenson of Ringling, Lacey Morrow and husband Ricky of Ardmore, Lesley Wright and husband Keith of Healdton, Lauran Shepard of Ardmore, Lexus Stephenson of Edmond, Lauren Kilcrease and husband Dakota Ratliff City, and Ashley McIntosh and husband Isiah of Stidham. She also leaves behind her sister, Janet Chatham of Wilson, her parents-in-law Terral Stephenson of Healdton and Jim and Pam Godwin of Pooleville, and her beloved grandchildren: Ryker, Ryder, Talon, Kymber, Kaigen, Waylon, Wylee, Jadyn, and Jaxyn, along with numerous other family members and friends.

Casket bearers will be Chris Godwin, Zack Murray, Blane Murray, Ricky Morrow, Keith Wright, and Zack Chatham, with Terral Stephenson serving as an honorary bearer.

Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
