Kathryn Sue (Roberts) Pemberton

Jan 1, 1948 — Oct 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Kathryn Sue Pemberton (Cathy), who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on January 1, 1948, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Bill and Betty Roberts, Cathy graduated from Healdton High School in 1966. She married Robert Brandt (deceased) and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where she worked as a flight attendant. Upon returning to Oklahoma, she married Rick Dobson in 1979. Together, they established the Dobson Ranch in Marietta, where they raised cattle and four boys.

Following many family holidays in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, her passion for saltwater fishing led to a full-time move there. Cathy later married Peck Pemberton, designing a beautiful home together on Lake Eufaula. They also spent several months each year at their condo in Nanaimo, BC, Canada, where Cathy delighted in playing the unofficial tour guide for visiting family and friends. In 2009, she and her sister Pat opened Pemberton's Steakhouse in Eufaula, Oklahoma, serving 5-star meals and entertaining guests.

Cathy was an avid traveler who named Italy as her favorite country to visit, and she was a lifelong Sooner Football supporter who attended games every chance she got. In her later years, she cherished her time at home with her beloved fur babies: Merle, Max, and Digby.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty Roberts, and her sister, Pat Swanson.

She is survived by her sons: Bobby Dobson and wife Mesty, John Dobson and wife Kristy Ann, TJ Dobson and wife Kristy, and Sean Dobson and wife Nykki; and her grandchildren: Skye, Sequoyah, Trey, Jade, Isabella, and Georgia.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Summit Church (previously Lone Grove Assembly of God), officiated by Pastor Jonathan Yandell. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Rachel Fernandez and Cross Timbers Hospice for their exceptional care during Cathy’s final days at home.
