Kenneth "Wayne" Brown

Services for Kenneth “Wayne” Brown, 79, of Ardmore, will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Milo Baptist Church with Michael Sanchez officiating. Interment will follow at Keller cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Wayne was born January 7, 1947, at Graham, to the late Mr. Thomas Granville Brown and Mrs. Myrtle Levi (Milson) Brown. He departed this life September 26, 2026, at Ardmore, OK.

Wayne was raised in Graham, where he attended school through the eighth grade. He continued his education at Fox Schools and graduated with the Fox High School Class of 1965. In 1967, Wayne was drafted into the United States Army. He completed basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and went on to serve in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge in November of 1970, he returned home and soon began the next chapter of his life. In February of 1971, he married the former Jo Ann Clark. Wayne built a career marked by hard work, skill, and a willingness to go wherever the job led. He was employed with Baker Electric, owned and operated by Don Baker, and later worked for SWB and Dyna Drill Smith International. His work even took him overseas to places such as Athens, Greece, and he also served as operations manager over Middle Eastern Asia. Wayne also worked alongside his brother, Buddy, with South Central Directional Drilling. Outside of work, Wayne embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. He had a love for speed, which he found in motorcycles, boats, and fast cars. Many summers were spent at Lake Murray with his family, where he enjoyed camping and making memories with those closest to him. He also occasionally enjoyed a good game of golf and was known for being very social, qualities that made him a familiar and welcome presence to many.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Thomas and Myrtle Brown; son, Curtis Ramsey; sisters, Norma Vanderburg, Myrtle Jewel Stewart, Alene Bowden, and Elizabeth Jane Roller; brother, W.H. “Buddy” Brown; mother-in-law, Maxine Clark; father-in-law, Mace Clark.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jo Ann Brown of the home; son, Tim Brown and wife Monica; grandchildren, Marcus Brinlee, Brandon Ramsey, C.J. Ramsey, Kylie Brown, Korey Brown, Kaitlyn Brown, Spencer Brown, and Presley Brown; brother-in-law, Jimmy Clark and wife Paula; daughter-in-law, Sherry Wheatley; numerous great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews, other family, and many friends.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Ramsey, Brandon Ramsey, Trey Westfall, Logan Good, Gavin Brown, Grayson Bertland, and Kyle Hull.

Honorary bearers are Jimmy Clark, Ron Westfall, Gene Griffin, Gary Claxton, Ronnie Norton, Jimmy Gale Tynes, Mack Paul, Mike Stewart, and David Lively.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M., Wednesday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
