Services for Kenneth “Duck” Karl King, 85, of Ringling, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Cornish Cemetery.

Kenneth was born April 1, 1941, at Cornish to the late Mr. Leslie Lee King and Mrs. Lorice (McKay) King. He departed this life Monday, June 8, 2026, at Healdton, OK.

Kenneth’s life was deeply rooted in the traditions and values of the place he called home from his earliest days attending school at Ringling while being raised in Cornish. Kenneth's origins were humble and marked by hard work, beginning his career as a ranch hand and hauling cattle. His dedication to this demanding life saw him employed by several ranches, notably those owned by Perch King and Raymond Martin. These years not only shaped his strong work ethic but also fostered connections that would remain significant throughout his life. On February 19, 1989, Kenneth married the former Ms. Carolyn Sue Ahrend in Ringling, a milestone that marked the beginning of a treasured partnership. Together, they shared many years filled with love and family-centered joy. Later in life, Kenneth transitioned to small engine repair work, conducting his business from home to stay close to his beloved family. This change allowed him to blend his technical skills with the joys of everyday life in a way that best suited his family’s needs. Above all else, Kenneth found his greatest happiness in the company of his children and grandchildren. His favorite pastime was spending quality time with them, whether through simple moments of togetherness or more lively adventures. Notably, he delighted in making circles around town, sometimes even on a lawn mower, pulling the grandchildren behind in a wagon—an image that captures his playful spirit and enduring dedication to family.

Preceding him in death are his parents; siblings, Donald Ray King, Clarence McKay, Dorothy Brandon, Shirley McCleary, Thurman King, and Waymon King.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home; children, Catrina Dyer and husband Elvis, Terry Fuqua and wife Lisa, Connie Applegate and husband Willie; grandchildren, Derick Fuqua and wife Hadiya Pair, Stormie O’Daniel, Summer O’Daniel, Keiri Craig, Melody Pierce, Katie Wade and husband Phillip, Lance Applegate and wife Allison, Logan Applegate and wife Savanah; 11 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sharon Huff and husband Talmer and Shirley King; numerous other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Terry Fuqua, Adam Jennings, Willie Applegate, Derek Fuqua, Logan Applegate, and Lance Applegate.

Honorary bearers are Mike King, Phillip Wade, Elvis Dyer, and Roy Lyle.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M., Sunday at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling.
