Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. Wayne Broadbent, 85 of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Jamie Griffin officiating. A private interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.
Wayne was born Sept. 11, 1940, at Pampa, TX to the late Mr. Ralph Delashment Broadbent and Mrs. Geraldine (Glover) Broadbent. He departed this life on Sunday Dec. 7, 2025, at a healthcare facility in Kingston.
Wayne, a dedicated and industrious individual, was raised in Pampa, Texas, where he completed his early education. He graduated high school in Amarillo, Texas, and began his professional journey at Barker Machine Shop in Amarillo. Demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and commitment, Wayne eventually acquired the shop, managing its operations for many years.
On December 26, 1970, he married Goldie L. McMillan in Sayre, Oklahoma. After retiring in 2000, Wayne and Goldie relocated to Healdton, where they embraced the joys of retirement together. Wayne was an avid golfer and cherished the time spent sharing coffee with friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Goldie – July 28, 2013; son, Robert Blackman; brother, Fred Broadbent; sister, Sue Brookshire and granddaughter, Amy Petitt.
Survivors include his children, Darryl Blackman and wife Tammy, Tina Ann Cartwright, Gaye Wilson and husband Jim, all of Kingston; stepbrothers Jim and wife Jimmie, Charles and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Christy, Tracy, Matt, Ashley and Alex; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Evan, Ellie, Conner, Teagan and Ilynn; numerous other family and friends.
Honorary bearers are Scott Gordon, Justin Walck, Matt Lagrone, Alex Wilson and Ryan Parsley.
