Larry Junior Hatter was born on March 14, 1954, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to Frank Ellis Hatter and Oma (Cox) Hatter. He departed this life on August 13, 2026, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 29 days.
Larry spent his childhood in the Wapanucka and Lone Grove areas, where he attended school in a number of communities. His early sense of duty and service led him to embark on a path with the United States Army Reserves at a very young age. As a typist, Larry contributed his skills to his country with quiet diligence until his discharge in 1982. Following his military service, Larry began a new chapter as a truck driver, transporting goods far and wide. Eventually, Larry discovered a profound enjoyment in the rock laying business. With a keen eye and steady hand, he laid rock for many homes and businesses throughout the area. His craftsmanship leaves a lasting legacy visible in the structures he helped create, including the old Rod and Gun Club in Ardmore. Beyond his professional life, Larry cherished the time he spent outdoors. Hunting and fishing brought him great happiness, offering him both solace and adventure.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Frank and Oma Hatter; wife, Vickie (Welch) Hatter; daughter, Amanda Hatter; siblings, Terry Hatter, Melvin Hatter, Leon Hatter, Patsy Patton.
