Visitation services for Larry Dale Morriss, 76, of Ringling, are scheduled from 3-5 P.M., Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling. Private Interment will follow at 10:00 A.M., Monday morning February 16, 2026, at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
Larry was born October 21, 1949, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the late Mr. Clarence Edward Morriss and Mrs. Goldie LuEllen (Kennedy) Morriss. He departed this life Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Ardmore.
Raised in a large family as one of twelve children, Larry spent his formative years in both Iowa and California. As an adult, Larry settled in Ringling and married the former Ms. Donna Allison. This union brought him joy as he became a stepfather to her two daughters, Elaine and Lisa. After living in Ringling for many years, the family made a significant move to Oklahoma City. Following his divorce from Donna, Larry chose to return to Ringling to be closer to his family, which remained a central aspect of his life. Larry embraced a diverse career, taking on roles in various fields, including work in the oil industry, as a truck driver for Joe Roberts Welding, and managing a fuel station. However, it was as a mechanic that he found his passion. Larry had a collection of knives and spent much of his leisure time tinkering and piddling with various projects. He cherished his family deeply, particularly his nieces and nephews, and took great pleasure in spending time with them.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Clarence and Ellen Morriss; siblings, Carolyn Haines, Freddie Morriss, Sr., JR Morriss, Sue Bailey, Danny Morriss, and Cindy Orr.
Survivors include his brothers, Sonny Morriss and wife Joyce of Ringling and George Henry Morriss and wife Sandy of Wilson; sisters, Georgia Hurst and husband Butch of Kingston, Nancy Jackson and significant other David Cunningham of Lone Grove, Frances Thompson and husband Larry of Bonham, TX.; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Morriss, Freddie Morriss, Bobby Hurst, Steve Gilbert, Logan Ballard, and Tyler Barnes.
