Leslie "Waymon" King

Mr. Leslie "Waymon" King, aged 81, of Healdton, passed away peacefully at his home on July 9, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on July 15, 1943, in Cornish, Oklahoma, to the late Leslie King and Lorice (McCay) King.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling, with Rev. John Harris officiating and Rev. Lafon Glenn assisting. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery.

Waymon was raised in Cornish and attended school in Ringling. He began his career as a barber before owning and operating two service stations. He dedicated a significant portion of his professional life as a manager for Dalwell, eventually retiring to work for B&C Backhoe. On October 6, 1968, Waymon married Shirley Ann Blevins in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and together they created a nurturing home in Healdton, raising their three sons. Known for his passion for fishing and his deep love for his grandchildren, Waymon was also recognized in his community for his sense of humor and playful nature as a prankster.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dale and Donald King; sisters Shirley McClarey and Dorothy Chance; his son Micheal Craig King; nephews Mark King, Frankie McClarey, Dee Ellis, Walt Chance, and Joe Cook; niece Connie Wilson; as well as four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

Waymon is survived by his wife Shirley; sons Danny Wayne King and wife Niki of Shawnee, and Johnny LaWayne King and wife Robyn of Kingston; grandchildren Bethany and Anthony Cantrell, Danielle and Kevin Douglas, Ashton King and Samantha Dalton, Jade and Ryan Vickery, Laney King and Dillon Solem, Tate and Angel Demps, and Maddy and Tilly Thompson; ten great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth King and a sister in law, Carolyn Beverly; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers for the service include Ashton King, Tate Demps, Ryan Vickery, CK Kelly, Kevin Douglas, and Terry Fugua. Honorary bearers will be Dillon Solem, Donnie Aycox, and Barry Hickman.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.alexandergrayfh.com.

Mr. King's legacy lives on through his family and many friends, who will remember him fondly for his laughter and warmth.
