Mrs. Linda Gail (Alexander) Hunt, aged 79, passed away on August 9, 2025, in Gainesville, Texas. She was born on July 21, 1946, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to the late Mr. Lee Clinton Alexander and Mrs. Lois Estelle (Kincheloe) Alexander.
Mrs. Hunt was a proud graduate of Wilson High School, having completed her studies in the class of 1964. On August 13, 1965, she married Marshall Hunt, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2022. Linda devoted over 20 years of her life to the Carter County Treasurer's office before her retirement. Known for her passion for gardening, she possessed a remarkable green thumb and found joy in nurturing plants. Additionally, Linda exemplified her caring nature by serving at the food bank of the River of Life Church, where she was an active member.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marshall, and three brothers: Wesley, A.L., and Armond. She is survived by her son, Jeff Hunt, and his wife Jonelle; her daughter, Amy Porter, and her husband Sam; her grandchildren, Jenna Hunt, Johnathon (Elisa), Makenna, Aidan, and Grady Porter; her great-granddaughter, Davi Jane; as well as her sisters, Pat Brawley, Shirley Coble, and Virginia Southerland. She will be greatly missed by a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Hunt will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
