Milo- Funeral Services for Mr. Marvin Dale Elliott, Sr., 72, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Milo Baptist Church at Milo with Rev. Mike Johnston and Dr. Robert L. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Milo Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Marvin was born July 5, 1940 at Elk City to the late Mr. Horace Dale Elliott and Mrs. Della Leona (Trent) Elliott. He departed this life Wed., August 22, 2012 at Ardmore.
Marvin was raised in Hammon on a farm and graduated high school at Lookeba Sickles. He soon began his career as a very passionate and committed salesman and entrepreneur. Marvin lived and travelled wherever an opportunity arose. He was a representative for many companies and owned and operated many stores and business. He loved people and always had a smile and compassionate caring heart for others. He was the key component of the Enon Chainsaw Ministry, establishing debris removal at disaster sights. He enjoyed helping others anyway he could. He and the former Betty (Snider) Johnson were united in marriage on Dec. 14, 1984 at Paris, TX, a relationship that began with a single yellow rose. He enjoyed his life with Betty and also enjoyed ranching and being with his cows. Marvin served as a Reserve Deputy at McCurtain County and also Love County. He was a member of the Milo Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his Parents; and Sister, Linda Fern Elliott.
Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; Children, Robin Rabe and husband Glen of Wilson, Howard Elliott and wife Janice of El Reno, Mark Lenhart and wife Sandi of Warr Acres, Marvin “JR” D. Elliott, Jr. and wife Christa of Melissa, TX, Kelly Jo Spradlin and husband Matt of Yukon, and Michael Johnson of Wilson; 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Marie Miller and husband Ralph of Grove, OK, and Bob Elliott and wife Judy of Norman; Numerous other family, church family and friends.
Pallbearers are Mark Harding, Charlie Rowe, Rob Tidwell, Bennie Cartwright, David Norton and Trent Taylor.
Honorary Bearers are Logan Hartman and Brittley Hartman.
Donations may be made in memory to the Baptist Girls Home/ Thompson Cottage, 13976 Anthony Lane, Madill, OK 73446.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
