Mary Sue Crockett

Graveside Services for Mary Sue (Suzie) Crockett, 80 of Duncan, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 30, 2025 at Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Chaplain David Croy officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Chapel in Velma.

Suzie was born October 5, 1944 in Red River County, Texas to William Henry Garretson and Doris Marie Garretson (Porterfield) and passed from this life on June 26, 2025 in Duncan, Oklahoma at 80 years of age.

Suzie grew up in Chillicothe, Texas. Graduating from Chillicothe High School in 1963. She married Jackie Crockett on December 1, 1965. They spent their early years traveling across Texas and Oklahoma for work and eventually landed in Velma, Oklahoma in 1976. There they raised one son. Suzie enjoyed work and her many work families. She had the heart of a volunteer, whether that be at school or in the Velma community, having served as PTO President, Velma City Councilman and especially as a home room mother. She always made sure that all kids around her felt loved. She was an artist, painting in oils and acrylics, a seamstress, a cook and a candy maker.
