Ratliff City - Funeral services for Mr. Michael "Mike" Ray Perkins, 73 of Velma will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Ratliff City, with Rev. Glynn Baker officiating and Dub Bohannon assisting. Cremation will follow the services at Alexander Gray Crematory. Services are entrusted to the care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Mike passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 9, 1951, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to the late Bobby Ray Perkins and Dolores Earlene (Thomason) Perkins.
Mike grew up in Ratliff City and graduated from Fox High School in 1969. On June 17, 1970, he married Sharon Kay Stewart, with whom he had two sons, Christopher and Steven. Mike began his career at Sparks Ranch before devoting the majority of his professional life to the oil industry, primarily with Kerr McGee from 1973 until 1993. He later worked as a contract pumper, owning and operating JSS Roustabout from 2004 to 2014. Later in life Mike married Rusty Santos on December 31, 2001. Together, they enjoyed many fulfilling years in Velma. He was always an avid fisherman and golfer, and cherished spending time outdoors.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Sharon.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rusty Perkins; his children, Chris Perkins of Velma and Steve Perkins of Ratliff City, Jonah Que and her husband Jeff of Velma; his brothers, Brent Perkins and wife Darla of Ratliff City, and Kent Perkins and wife Kathy of Ratliff City; as well as his beloved grandchildren: Kyla Perkins, Chelsea Perkins, Jake Perkins, Hudson Perkins, Jorell Que, and Jelena Que; great grandchildren, Tynslee Knox, Braxton Knox, and Riley O'Neal; and a host of extended family and friends.
The pallbearers for the service will include Jeff Que, Brandon Perkins, Bryan Perkins, Jake Perkins, Connor Armstrong, and Caden Armstrong.
Honorary bearers are Don Thompson, Dr. Charles Dickerson, Bill Gooden, Frankie Phelps, Jay Rodriguez, Dub Bohannon, Jerry Strickland, Kaleb Osmus, and Jerry Hunt.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
