Services for Monica Delean (Powell) Idleman, 68, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, OK.
Monica was born December 13, 1957, at Pauls Valley, OK to the late Mr. Leon Powell and Mrs. Dorthy Maxine (Rhodes) Powell. She departed this life October 9, 2026, at her home in Ardmore.
Monica was raised in Maysville, where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1977. During her school years, she was active in church alongside her family and especially loved to sing. She also served as a baton twirler for her high school, bringing enthusiasm and spirit to those years. On August 13, 1977, Monica married Stanley Owen Idleman at First Baptist Church in Maysville. Shortly after their marriage, they made their home in Ardmore, where she remained through the years. Monica and Stanley shared 33 years together as a couple, including 29 years of marriage. Monica began her married life as a homemaker, devoting herself to raising her children. She later worked in the school cafeteria for Plainview and Dickson Schools. In time, she found her place at Winstar, where she ran the money room from around 1998 until her retirement in 2016. She was known as someone who worked faithfully and cared deeply for her family. She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. Monica loved to read, crochet, and go fishing. She was an avid collector of holiday Barbies and also sold Mary Kay products for fun. Above all else, she treasured time with her grandchildren, who brought her special happiness and were at the center of her heart. Monica leaves behind a memory that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
