Services for Nelson Clark Dixon, Jr., 61, of Wilson, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Doug Hickman officiating. Interment will follow at Provence cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
Nelson was born August 7, 1964, in Duncan, OK, to Mr. Nelson Clark Dixon, Sr. and Letha Fern Parker. He departed this life November 29, 2025, at Healdton, OK.
Raised in the Healdton/Wilson area, Nelson attended Wilson schools, where he made lasting memories and friendships. A talented athlete, he excelled in football and at one point held the record for the longest run for a touchdown at Wilson High School, showcasing both his dedication and skill. Upon graduating, Nelson embarked on a career in the oilfield, starting at a young age on drilling rigs. Throughout his 50-plus years in the industry, he developed a reputation as an extraordinary Derrick Hand, primarily working with esteemed companies such as Jones Drilling and Nabors Well Services Co. His expertise and unwavering work ethic ensured he was never short of opportunities in a demanding field. In addition to his professional achievements, Nelson cherished his personal life. On October 10, 2022, he married Kim, the love of his life. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home in Ardmore before later moving to Wilson, where they continued to build their lives together. Nelson was known for his kind heart and willingness to help those around him. He enjoyed playing the guitar and found immense joy in spending time with his family. The connections he made and the love he shared will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Preceding him in death are his dad, Nelson Dixon, Sr.; brother, Steven Dixon; special friend he thought of as a brother, Jackie Wayne Hill.
Survivors include his wife Kim of the Home; children, Dillon Hodges-Dixon of Lawton, Zack Dixon of Lawton, Heath Green and wife Lesli of Ardmore; mother, Letha Parker of Lone Grove; brother, David Dixon and wife Misty of Farmersville, TX; sisters-in-law, Shelly Elles and husband Tommy of Lone Grove, Johnna Hartsell of Lone Grove, Kelli McMillen and husband David of Fox; brother-in-law, Stacey Walker and wife Carol of Lone Grove; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Heath Green, Zack Dixon, Dillon Sullivan, Doug Wesley, Stacey Walker, Lany Buck, and Chris Dixon.
Honorary bearers are David Shepherd, David Dixon, David McMillen, Homer Adams, Tommy Elles, and Justin Walker.
