Services for Norman “Dale” Richardson, 84, of Ringling, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Loco Baptist Church with Dr. Robert L. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Grady Cemetery in Jefferson County. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
Dale was born September 8, 1940, at Oscar, OK, to the late Mr. Norman Leo Richardson and Mrs. Opal Geneva (Whatley) Richardson. He went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home in Ringling.
Dale's early years were spent in the Ryan public schools, where he proudly graduated with the class of 1957. Following his education, he began working in the oilfield alongside his father before transitioning to the construction industry, where he laid bricks and ultimately became an iron worker. His dedication to hard work was evident throughout his life. Dale responded to his country’s call by enlisting in the Army during the Korean War. A pivotal moment in his military service occurred when he received the coded message informing him of President Kennedy's assassination, a testament to the trust placed in him during such a profound historical moment. On December 5, 1964, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Dale married the former Miss Rosie Mae Hammons. After their marriage, they lived on a military base in Fort Hood, Texas, and later moved to Greenville, Texas, where Dale found employment with LTV, a military electronics contractor. In 1971, they made their home in Ringling, where Dale established his own business specializing in the repair of radios and televisions. Eventually, he founded Richardson Construction, continuing his long-standing commitment to his craft. Dale was a devout Christian whose faith shaped his life and actions. He served diligently as a deacon, song leader, and youth pastor at Rubottom Baptist Church for many years. His unwavering dedication led him to change his membership to Loco Baptist Church in 2011, where he continued his role as a deacon. Dale’s commitment to his church community was so profound that upon finding it difficult to drive at night, the church graciously moved Wednesday night services to the daytime to ensure he could attend. Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Dale took great pride in his role as a driver for Red River Transportation, assisting individuals in reaching medical appointments and running errands with a charitable spirit. An avid fan of the University of Oklahoma, particularly its softball program, Dale enjoyed supporting his favorite team. Most importantly, Dale was a loving grandfather who cherished each of his grandchildren, taking immense pride in their accomplishments and growth. His legacy of love, devotion, and service will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
