Jean Hatley

Lone Grove - Funeral Services for Oletha "Jean" (Cox) Hatley, 87 are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Lone Grove with Rev. Bill Black with interment will follow at West Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Jean was born October 19, 1938, in Oswalt, OK to the late Mr. Delbert Lee Cox and Mrs. Ruth Clara Hockersmith. She departed from this life on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in Ardmore, OK.

Jean attended Plainview School where her father Delbert was coaching. She graduated high school from Plainview in 1956. Jean married David Lee Hatley on May 25, 1957. They made their home in Edmond and were blessed with 4 boys. In 1964, they moved to Gene Autry and then later to Graham and then finally settling in Lone Grove. Jean was a devoted homemaker and dedicated mother to her children and wife to her husband. She enjoyed bowling in the women's league, bingo, loved selling Avon and being with her husband David during his basketball coaching years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, David Lee Hatley on December 19, 2025; son, Mark Hatley; granddaughter, Sherry Pelton; sister, Jeannine Butler; and brother, Darrel Cox.

Jean is survived by her sons, Roger Hatley of Lone Grove, Carl Hatley and wife Vanessa of Bakersfield, CA, and Phillip Hatley and wife Donna of Lone Grove; brother, Donald Keith Cox and wife Pam of Ardmore; 6 grandchildren, Cory, Joshua, Jared, Phillip Craig, Annemarie, and Natalia, 8 great grandchildren; and by a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Sean Pierce, Michael Fields, Cory Hatley, Joshua Hatley, Phillip Craig Hatley, and Jared Hatley.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
