Patricia LuWanna (Davis) Murphy, of Wilson, departed this life on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Wilson Nursing Center in Wilson at the age of 86 years, 0 months, and 20 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Bro. Lyndal Werner officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Patricia was born to the late Mr. Robert Davis and Mrs. Maudie (Fitzsimmons) Davis on December 20, 1935 in Ardmore, OK.
Patricia grew up in Wilson and attended Wilson Schools, graduating with the Class of 1954. After graduating she attended Business College. Then married and followed her husband around working in the pipelines. She moved to Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City and returned to Wilson in 1963 to raise her family. She worked as a desk clerk for several different companies but her favorite job was sewing and being seamstress for many years. She loved sewing, cooking, crafting and playing card games but you had to keep an eye on her or she might cheat a little bit while playing games. She was a longtime member of the Wilson Church of Christ and later attended The First Baptist Church of Wilson.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenton Lance Murphy (2002); sons-in-law, Bill Vails and Bill Lambert.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her daughters, Kara Ogburn and her husband Carl of Lone Grove; Vicki Lambert of Wilson; sister, Billye Jean Werner of Independence, KS; grandchildren, Shane Newcomb and Nanci; Jayson Newcomb and David, Jarrod Vails and Amber, Ryan Vails, Amanda Rivers and Kelvin, Kenna Guzman and Victor, and Allison Murphy; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dylan and wife Maci, Josie, Sean, Aryana, Taryn, Olivia, Kloe, Cache, and Izzy; Many other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Shane Newcomb, Jayson Newcomb, Dylan Lambert, Sean Vails, Jarrod Vails,Carl Ogburn, and David Vidana.
Honorary casket bearers will be Terry Werner, Mickey Werner, Tammy Werner, Greg Newcomb, Judy Ferrell, and Class of 1954.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Wilson Nursing Center and Cross Timbers Hospice for their loving care.
