Paula Jean (Wilson) Beaird

Jul 1, 1954 — Oct 18, 2026

Paula Jean (Wilson) Beaird passed away on October 18, 2026, in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. She was born on July 1, 1954, in Ardmore, to the late Edward Lavern Davis and Corine (Parker) Davis. At a young age, Paula went to live with Paul and Jean Wilson in the Oklahoma City and Newcastle area, where she attended school in Moore, Oklahoma. When she was sixteen, she was reunited with her birth family in Ratliff City. Paula worked for many years at Stella’s bar before receiving her license as a CNA. That achievement opened the way for a career in nursing homes, and she spent much of that time at Ringling Nursing Home. It was there, in 1986, that she met and married Teddy Beaird, who was a resident there after becoming a paraplegic. Paula brought Teddy home from the nursing home and devoted the rest of his life to caring for him. She often said that Teddy showed her what real love was. She was a woman of many interests and a deeply devoted heart. Paula was very crafty, expressing her creativity through painting and other projects. She was also an avid collector of crystals. To her nephews, she was the coolest aunt, especially because she loved playing video games and shared that joy with them. Paula loved life, and above all else, she loved her family. She was known for her loyalty and for the care she gave so freely to those she loved.

Preceding her in death are her birth parents, Edward and Corine Davis; adopted parents, Paul and Jean Wilson; husband, Teddy Beaird; sisters, Nancy Wilkins and Judy Davis; brother, Billy Mack Davis; nieces, Nickie Watkins and Tina Fowler; nephew, Billy Davis, Jr.

Survivors include her sisters, Kellye Melton and husband Tex, Donna Watkins and husband Mickey; aunts, Shirley Hancock and Joyce Fowler; stepson, Shawn Beaird; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory.
