Services for Phillip Earl Holmes, 71, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Lone Grove with Pastor Scott Holmes and David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton, OK. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Phillip was born September 5, 1952, at Ardmore, OK, to Mr. Mansel Odell Holmes and Mrs. Ruth "Laverne" Holmes. He departed this life Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Norman Regional Hospital.

Phillip was raised in Healdton attending school at Dundee and Healdton, graduating 4th in his High School class from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. He went on to further his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor in Business Management. Phillip married the former Miss Debbie Allen on July 12, 1974, at the Healdton Assembly of God Church. The couple made their home in Oklahoma City where Phillip was employed by Oil Well Supply which later transitioned to Mission Fluid King. He and Debbie moved to Healdton in 1981 but later made their home in Ardmore in 1996. Phillip continued his employment for Mission Fluid King until 1992 when he became the Co-owner and operator of B&R Pump and Equipment. He held an active position in the business until the time of his passing. Phillip was known for his passion and love to work. He enjoyed picking pecans, and fishing, but most of all he loved watching and supporting his grandchildren as they played sports and showed a mixture of animals. Phillip raised show cattle and commercial cattle alongside his son-in-law, Keith Henderson, who helped him achieve his farming dreams. Phillip was a kind soul who never met a stranger and was known for his caring and loving actions.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Ruth; Mother and Father-in-law, Norma and Kenneth Allen; brother-in-law, Allan Ross.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Holmes of the home; daughters, Amber Henderson and husband Keith of Lone Grove, Summer Skinner and husband Scott of Ringling, April Hudspeth and husband Cody of Wilson, and Shae Holmes of Ardmore; father, Mansel Holmes and wife Jeanene of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Logan Roberts and husband Jakus, Lexi Henderson, Emma Skinner, Kallen Henderson, Slate Hudspeth and Ivy Hudspeth; one great grandbaby girl on the way; siblings, Vicky Amend of Shreveport, LA, Angie Ross of Oklahoma City, and Scott Holmes and wife Kara of Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Susie Weaver and husband Mike of Ardmore; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Keith Henderson, Cody Hudspeth, Scott Skinner, Cody Johnson, Jakus Roberts, Kallen Henderson, and Slate Hudspeth.

Honorary bearers are Terry Mayo, Freddie Tayar, David Brady, Mike Brady, Richard Cox, Johnny Allen, Jesse Allen, Dillon Page, Mike Bynum, Art Timmons, Toby Aycox, Jerod Aycox, Mike Johnson, all past and present B & R Employees.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
