Roberta Lynn Turner-Beasley passed away on September 24, 2024, at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
Roberta, who was the eldest child of James Robert Turner and Frances Evelyn Shimp Turner, was born in Emporia, Kansas. Her parents brought her home to Madison, Kansas, to meet a large loving family of grandparents, aunts, and uncles. They called her Bobbie, an endearing nickname that she kept throughout her life. Her sister, Norma Jane, and her brother, Jay Robert, were later added to the family.
In 1959, the family moved to the oilfields of Healdton, Oklahoma. The Turner children attended Healdton Public Schools where Bobbie graduated in 1966. After high school she attended Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Bobbie married her high school sweetheart, Donald Dean Beasley in 1971. The two had attended the First Christian Church in Healdton, where both families were members. After marriage, she exercised her talents and skills in a variety of jobs, including working at an import company, at the Ardmore Hospital, at a church, and at the Census Bureau. Her job descriptions listed being a business manager, a librarian, a secretary, and a florist. But her love was with the flowers, and she became a very creative and talented florist. Bobbie loved animals, and her dogs were her babies! She also enjoyed crafting, baking, reading, teaching Sunday School and travel.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Bill Pickelsimer of Oklahoma City, her brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Sandy Turner of Healdton, a niece and three nephews, two great-nieces, and eight great-nephews.
