Graveside Services for Mr. Ronald Joe Rumsey, 82 of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

Ron was born April 18, 1938 in Daingerfield, TX to the late Mr. Thomas Joseph Rumsey and Nellie Frances (Russell) Rumsey. He departed from this life on Friday, December 18, 2020 at his home in Ringing.
Ron married the former Ms. Irene Marie Choate June 21, 1966 at Wichita Falls, TX. He made his living working as a butcher, owning his own business for many years. Ron had a love for music. He played guitar and sang at the Honky Tonks for close to 30 years. Ron loved hunting and fishing which took him all over the country and even Canada. He had a love for Purple Martins since he was a child. He always looked forward to their return to his place every year. Ron loved all sports, coaching his son’s baseball and football teams when they were younger. He retired and moved back to Ringling with his “Little Woman”, Irene, in 1980. Ron enjoyed raising goats, gardening, working cattle, and harvesting pecans.

Preceding him in death is his parents; wife, Irene; daughter, Alisa; siblings, Margie, Tommie, Tom Jr., Carl and Mary.

Ron is survived by his sons, Rodney Hairell and wife Linda of Grand Prairie, TX and Ron Rumsey, Jr. and wife Heather of Arlington, TX; daughter, Lizanne Cook and husband Terry; siblings, Omar,William and James Rumsey; niece, Martha Lou; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers will be Rodney Hairell, Nick Hairell, Bobby Harper, Crickett Rumsey, Terry Choate, and Cecil Morrison.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
