Ronald Wayne Peavler

Ronald "Ronnie" Wayne Peavler, aged 79, of Velma, passed away on February 18, 2026, at the local VA Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel, with interment to follow at New Velma Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Sheppard Air Force Base.

Born on October 2, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, Ronnie moved to Velma at the age of 12 when his father was transferred. He graduated from Velma-Alma High School in 1964. and went on to attend Central State College in Edmond for 1 year.

In 1966, Ronnie enlisted in the United States Air Force in Oklahoma City, serving honorably until his discharge in 1969. Following his military service, he devoted much of his career to the oilfield, notably working with Halliburton, before concluding his professional journey with Jenkins Supply Company in Velma.

Ronnie cherished moments spent playing golf with buddies Braiden and Brenden, dancing with his friend Mary, and attending concerts. He is remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Doris Peavler, and his wife, Sharon K. (Pogue) Peavler and a great granddaughter, Scarlette Peavler. He is survived by his son, Bret Peavler; and his two grandsons, Braiden and Brenden Peavler; granddaughter, Sara Peavler; great grandchildren, Lennox Noelle Peavler, Penelope West, Revenna, Atticus, and Killian; a special friend, Mary Loring, and her children, Perry Loring and Tracy Leasure; and by a host of other family and friends.
