Obituary

Celebration of Life Services for RoseMary (Sitton) Garrett, 79, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson, with her brother, Pastor Rick Sitton, officiating. Following the memorial service, a reception will be held at the Orr Building Venue, open to all.

RoseMary Sitton Garrett, aged 79, of Dickson, Oklahoma, peacefully passed into the embrace of her Heavenly Father on September 6, 2026. She was born on July 27, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to the late George Ray Sitton and Mary Lynn (Montgomery) Sitton. She united in marriage with Steve Garrett on May 27, 1987, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, cherishing 39 years together.

A graduate of H. Grady Spruce High School in Pleasant Grove, TX, class of 1965, RoseMary had a rich and varied career. She excelled in sales, owned a small business, and was a capable bookkeeper. Her career included positions with West Bend Cookware, a rental franchise she co-operated in Nacogdoches, TX, a downtown Lindale, TX flower shop she successfully ran, ChemSearch, and Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK. She concluded her professional journey as a financial service bookkeeper for Go Harley-Davidson/Kawasaki in Angleton, TX.

RoseMary was known for her loving kindness and unwavering goodness. Respected for her strong work ethic and steadfast faith, she was devoted in every role she embraced, whether as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, or friend.

She was predeceased by her parents, her son Brad Burnell, and her brother John Ray Sitton of Tyler, Texas.

Her memory remains cherished by her husband, Steve Garrett of Ardmore, her son, Shawn David Burnell of Tyler, TX, and her brother, Rick (Karen) Sitton of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Devin Helm and Ryan Burnell; sisters-in-law, Deborah Sitton of Tyler, TX, Pam Griggs and husband Tim of Lone Grove, and Brenda Martin and husband Chris of Moore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
