Services for Shannon Kaye (Hunt) Dixon, 66, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.
Shannon Kaye (Hunt) Dixon, born on May 4, 1959, in Ardmore, the daughter of the late Mr. George Peterman Hunt and Mrs. Toni P (Means) Hunt. She departed this life on November 16, 2025, at her home, in her sleep.
Raised in Ardmore, Shannon was a vibrant spirit who attended school at Dickson. Her early years laid the foundation for a life dedicated to caring and nurturing. In April of 1984, she married Mr. Michael Dixon in Cache, Oklahoma. The couple’s bond flourished as they made their first home together in Lawton, where Shannon pursued her passion for nursing. She earned her certification to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, a career that would define much of her professional life. In 1991, Shannon and Michael settled back in Ardmore. There, she began her journey at Mercy Hospital, where she dedicated nearly a decade to providing compassionate care to her patients. Shannon’s commitment to nursing extended beyond her tenure at the hospital; she held various nursing positions at treatment centers in the Ardmore area over the following years. Her remarkable sense of humor and passion for helping others endeared her to both colleagues and those she cared for. Beyond her professional achievements, Shannon found joy in the simpler pleasures of life. She had a profound love for her pets and tended to her flowers with the same diligence and affection she showed to her patients. Shannon was not only a wonderful wife but also a devoted mother, embodying the essence of compassion and kindness throughout her life.
Preceding her in death is her parents, George and Toni Hunt; brother, Kevin Hunt.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Dixon of the home; son, Seth Dixon and wife Marielle LeGrow of Richardson, TX; step-son, Michael L Dixon and wife Kristy of Seminole, OK; uncle, Johnny Means of Oklahoma City; numerous other family and friends.
