Services for Sharon Gray, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Simon Cemetery.
Sharon Gray, age 79, passed from this life on January 18, 2026, at her beloved home, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 12, 1946, in Wheeler, Oklahoma, to Ida Patrick Taylor and William Lonnie Taylor.
Sharon married the love of her life, Danny Gray, on September 6, 1960. They made their home in Wilson, Oklahoma, later relocating their house foundation and all to family land on Simon Creek, south of Wilson. Together they built a life rooted in family, love, and simple joys.
Sharon worked at the Michelin Tire Plant, later serving her community as a bus driver for Turner Public Schools, and eventually worked for REA as a rural meter reader.
She was an excellent cook and especially loved baking pies and candy, often alongside her grandchildren, using recipes passed down through generations. Sharon loved the simple things in life. She enjoyed country western concerts, horse racing, and especially camping at Lake Murray. One of her lifelong dreams was to become a camp host so she could spend the entire summer at the lake.
Her greatest joy, second only to her husband, was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was at her best when they were with her and always looked forward to cookouts at home and family reunions at the lake, where everyone could be together.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Danny Gray, of the home; her children Danna Denton and Gary, Shannon Lette and husband Gary, and Shane Gray and wife Stephanie Lott Gray; and her grandchildren Jared Morgan, Catlin Morgan, Danielle Young, Lacey Ficklin, Tanner Hartman, Taylor Cooper, Izzy Fortune, Danielle Brown, Kaylee Hacker, Dashane Gray, and Caselin Gray. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A special thank you is extended to Stephanie Lott Gray, Sharon’s only daughter-in-law and dear friend, who always made sure her nails were manicured and her hair looked its best. They shared many adventures together, and Stephanie had a special way of making Sharon laugh.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Patrick Taylor and William Lonnie Taylor; her daughter Angela Juhreen Morgan; son-in-law Dale Morgan; sisters Imogene Greenroyd, Fern Hacker, and Wilma Carter; and brothers P.R. Taylor and Jerry Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Tanner Hartman, Shooter Byford, Jett Young, Jared Morgan, Wes Young, and Ronnie Gray.
Honorary Pallbearers include Catlin Morgan, Danielle Young, Lacey Ficklin, Taylor Cooper, Izzy Fortune, Kaylee Hacker, Dashane Gray, Caselin Gray, Quinton Nipp, and Jay Goode.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Cross Timbers Hospice staff for their outstanding care and compassion.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 P.M., Tuesday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
