Graveside services for Sonja (Gradolph) Holt, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Leon Cemetery in Leon, OK with Rev. Mark Fuller officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
She was born on January 28, 1957, in Unteraspach-Oberscheffach, Germany, to the late Mr. Hans Gradolph and Mrs. Hanny Anneliese (Naundorf) Gradolph. Sonja (Gradolph) Holt passed away on October 8, 2026, in Oklahoma City at the age of 69.
The fifth of six children, Sonja grew up in Germany and attended Rollhof Elementary School. She completed her education at Leonhard Kern Realshule on July 22, 1972. On December 20, 1972, Sonja was blessed with a son, Thomas “Tommy” Gradolph, who remained an important part of her life. On December 26, 1994, she married Mr. Roy Wayne Hatman in Wilson, Oklahoma. Their marriage brought companionship and devotion, and Sonja spent her time caring for Roy until his passing on October 3, 2002. For more than 30 years, Sonja worked at Basic Glass in Lone Grove, where she was a dedicated employee until her retirement. Her life reflected steady commitment to both work and family, and those who knew her understood the depth of her care for the people closest to her. After Roy’s death, Sonja moved to Mannford, Oklahoma, where she lived until July of 2011. At that time, she returned to Lone Grove in order to help Adrian, their granddaughter, care for her son, Jacob, during a deeply important season for the family, leading up to and following the death of Adrian’s mother. This act of love and support was characteristic of Sonja’s giving nature and her willingness to be present when she was needed most.
Also preceding her in death are her parents and her sister, Helga.
Survivors include her son, Tommy Gradolph of Germany; granddaughter, Adrian Tidwell of Lone Grove; great granddaughter, Makenzie of Lone Grove; great grandson, Jacob and significant other, Sydney of the home; siblings, Harald, Renate, Siegfied, and Monika all of Germany; special friends, Jose and Maria Moreno of Lawton; numerous other family and friends.
