Susan May Ferdon, resident of Wilson, passed away at the age of 72 on November 2, 2026, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Born on July 8, 1954, in Long Beach, California, she was the cherished daughter of Edward "Rock" Rockwood and Joyce "Candy" Rockwood.
Raised in Long Beach, Susan later moved to Oklahoma during the 1980s, dedicating much of her career to the retail service industry. In the 2000s, she pursued her passion for horticulture by establishing "Playing in the Dirt," her own business devoted to landscaping and garden work. Susan also contributed her skills as an assistant store manager at Loves Travel Co. in Pauls Valley until 2003, before relocating to Wilson to care for her mother. There, she worked at the Chickasaw Travel Stop until 2014. Known for her love of gardening, Susan also found joy in painting small statues and had a special fondness for turtles. Her dedication to her family and her community will be remembered fondly.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and two sisters Jennifer Ferdon and Cynthia Moore.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Wendy Bruce; grandchildren, Spencer Bruce and Tristan Bruce; brother, Matthew Rockwood and wife Jeanette; numerous nieces and nephews; and by a host of other family and friends.
Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory in Wilson. No services are scheduled at this time.
