Obituary

Funeral services for Tammy Kay (Botts) Christian, 64, of Ratliff City, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Living Word Tabernacle, officiated by Bro. Bobby Wright, with Danny Coates III assisting. Interment will follow at Graham Cemetery, under the care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Tammy was born on October 13, 1961, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Benjamin Cecil Botts and Jerri Kay (Garlett) Botts. She passed peacefully at home on August 26, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Raised in Hennessey, Oklahoma, Tammy graduated high school in 1979 and married Eugene Christian on July 26, 1980, at Pruitt City at Eugene's parents' house by Bro. Hurshel Baker. They settled in Ratliff City, where Tammy attended SOTC and became a medical assistant in 1985. Later, she and Eugene dedicated themselves to pastoring and fostering 22 children, adopting four. In 2003, they established Living Word Christian Academy, where Tammy served as teacher and administrator for 12 years. Known for her outreach ministry, Tammy cherished being a Nana and devoted herself to her family, known for her forgiving, merciful, and patient nature. She had a passion for crafts and a deep faith and love in the Lord.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Botts; Joyce Botts; sister, Cynthia Evans; and grandchildren, Melody and Oakley.

She is survived by her mother, Jerri Garlett; her husband, Eugene Christian; children, Melissa Jones (Andrew), Heather Coates (Danny Coates, Jr.), Sharon Rodriguez, Tracey Burkhart (Alan), Jeremiah Christian (fiancée Gabrielle Stroble), and Corenesia Bryant (Jordan); brother, Jeff Botts (Olga); grandchildren, Caleb Jones (Chey), Angelmayre Jones, Drew Jones, Danny Coates III (Brooklyn), Alexander Christian, Xavier Young, Christian Young, Jagger Bryant, Gracie Bryant, Nahla Bryant, and Jordan Bryant, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Jones and Joseph Burckhalter, and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will include Danny Coates III, Jeremiah Christian, Stephen Holland, Leon Wright, Charlie Mills, and Bryan Christian, with honorary bearers being sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, and grandsons.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
