Terence "Scott" Taylor, age 55, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on December 24, 2025. Born on June 16, 1970, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, he was the beloved son of Jerry Dwain Taylor and Carolyn Sue (Grissom) Fox.
Scott grew up in Southern Oklahoma and graduated from Lawton High School in 1989. He began his career with National Tree Service and later worked for Landco Services, a contractor for Goodyear, before dedicating his talents to farming and ranching with Lee Scott.
On April 10, 2016, Scott married Janet Cole in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a loving home in Madill for the past nine years. Scott had a passion for fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved dog, Lexi. He was known for his enthusiastic poker nights with family, smoking delicious meats, and his genuine friendship towards many. His kind and generous spirit touched the lives of those around him.
Scott is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Taylor, and his cherished uncle, Sonny Grissom. He is survived by the love of his life, Janet Taylor of the home; his mother, Carolyn Fox of Ardmore; his brothers, Marty Taylor and wife Donna of Lone Grove, and Brent Taylor and wife Dana of Springer; his niece, Ashley Adame and husband Juan, along with their son, Cortez, of Lone Grove; cousins Mike Smith and wife Carolyn of Seymour, MO, Jack Grissom and wife Kelly of Ringling, and Lori Gordon and husband Joe of Wilson; stepchildren Haley Byers and partner Marisa Garcia, and Garrett Byers; honorary daughters Taylor El-Jabsheh and husband Zane, and Rachel Nidenberg; and his cherished grandchildren that called him Poppi, Dawson Lee Byers and Bristol Quinn Harman, along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Reck Cemetery. Visitation will be available prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.
Pallbearers for the service will include Mary Taylor, Brent Taylor, Johnny Boyd, Mike Smith, Juan Adame, and Jack Grissom. Honorary bearers are Zane El-Jabsheh and Raphael Glapion.
