Graveside Inurnment services for Virgil Ray Holybee, 67, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Rosehill Cemetery in Ardmore with Stevie Skinner officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory.

Virgil was born June 15, 1958, at Ardmore to the late Mr. Oscar Cleo Holybee and Mrs. Juanita Mary (Haskins) Holybee. He passed away peacefully Thursday, January 1, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home in Ardmore.

Raised in Ardmore, Virgil was known for his spirited nature and his love for sports. He attended local schools, where he developed a passion for softball, engaging in games that fostered camaraderie and competition. A devoted sports enthusiast, he also found great joy in watching football, cheering for his favorite teams with enthusiasm. Virgil's dedication extended beyond the field; he built a career that spanned several years working as a stocker for Wal-Mart, where he was appreciated for his work ethic and friendly demeanor. Prior to this, he lent his skills as a maintenance worker for Hardy Murphy Coliseum, contributing to the upkeep of a cherished local venue. Family was central to Virgil’s life. He cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, sharing laughter and creating memories that will be treasured forever. An avid casino-goer, he often delighted in trying his luck while enjoying a coke and a cigarette—pleasures that were part of his simple yet fulfilling life.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Oscar and Juanita; infant daughter, Cindy Holybee; brothers, Ronnie and Gerald; sister, Brenda Holybee; one sister-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law.

Survivors include his daughters, Christina Lopez and husband Daniel, Amy Martinez and husband Antonio; sisters, Mary Thurman, Cindy Miller and husband Tommy, and Judy Brown; brothers, Michael Holybee, Alvin Holybee, Buster Holybee and wife Chrissi, David Holybee and wife Kendra, and Justin Holybee; 3 grandchildren, Cristian, Isidra, and Dionicio; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, other family and friends.
