Wanda Ruth (Brock) Crook

Velma – Homegoing services for Mrs. Wanda Ruth (Brock) Crook, age 93, of Velma, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Velma Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Southerland and Rev. Kerry Glasgow officiating. Interment will follow at the New Velma Cemetery. The services will be conducted under the direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Wanda was born on October 17, 1932, in Crescent, Oklahoma, to the late Mr. Clyde Harrison Brock and Opal Henryetta (Houck) Brock. She peacefully entered her heavenly home on December 5, 2025, in Duncan.

Raised in Crescent, Wanda completed her early education there, graduating from Purcell High School. On August 11, 1951, she married Mr. Carl "Gene" Crook in Guthrie. Following their marriage, Gene served in the military, while Wanda remained in Crescent. Upon his return, the family moved and settled primarily in Loco, where they raised three children.

Wanda was a dedicated homemaker whose nurturing spirit created a warm environment filled with lasting memories and cherished family values. She had a profound love for the outdoors, reflected in her enthusiasm for fishing with her children and her commitment to maintaining a beautiful yard. In addition to her gardening, Wanda  loved crocheting, further showcasing her creativity and care. In her later years, she developed a strong passion for the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team, embracing the joy of engaging discussions about games and sports with her family.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene on June 25, 2009; a great-grandchild, Collin Wilkerson; brothers Kenneth Wayne Brock and Glenn Harrison Brock; and sister Vergie Irene Barnett.

She is survived by her loving children, Danny Crook and wife Wanda, Jeannie Dickerson and husband Dennis, all of Velma, and David Crook of Ardmore; sisters Clydene Williams of Crescent, Rose Rogers of Durant, Bonnie Stuckwish of Edmond, and Donna Kay Huge  and husband John of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Jody Crook and wife Alicia, Tracy McCashen and husband Steve, Kevin Dickerson and wife Angie, Angel Wilkerson and husband Justin, Tiffany Eason and husband Trey, Tyler Crook and wife Chrissie, Taylor Feroldi and husband Len, Tanner Crook and wife Valeri; great-grandchildren Christian Elias, Corbin Crook, Natalie Dickerson, Lainey Dickerson, Rhett Dickerson, Josiah Dickerson, Alex Wilkerson, Matthew Wilkerson, Thea Eason, Tinley Eason, Eli Feroldi, L.J. Feroldi, and Adalynn Feroldi; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Casket bearers will include Tanner Crook, Len Feroldi, Jody Crook, Kevin Dickerson, Brian Beckner, and Kent Rogers. Honorary bearers are Tyler Crook, Rhett Dickerson, Josiah Dickerson, Christian Elias,  Alex Wilkerson and Trey Eason.
