Services for Wanda Lee Embrey, 88, of Healdton, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton with Bro. Clint Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Provence cemetery in Ardmore, OK.

Wanda was born August 20, 1937, at White Town, Arkansas, to the late Mr. Levi Able Embrey and Clover Della (Hill) Dunn. She departed this life Friday, March 20, 2026, at her home in Healdton.

Wanda’s life was marked by resilience, selflessness, and an enduring spirit of care and dedication that touched the lives of many. Raised mostly in Arkansas and California, Wanda eventually made her home in the Healdton area, where she lived for the past 51 years. Her working career began at the Stromberg Carlson Company, located at the Gene Autry Airpark. With a keen eye for beauty and history, Wanda developed a passion for antiquing. She immersed herself in the vibrant world of antiques—searching sales for hidden treasures, lovingly refurbishing them, and sharing her finds through sales. Wanda’s life was defined by her role as a single parent to six children, whom she raised with steadfast love and determination, embodying the true meaning of strength and sacrifice. Her exceptional cooking and tireless work ethic were only matched by her generous heart. She was known for putting the needs of others before her own, offering care not only to her children but also to grandchildren and other family members in need. Her warmth extended to being a caregiver for her mother and several siblings, never turning anyone away who required her help. Even in the later years of her life, Wanda continued this devotion, caring for a great-grandchild just months before her passing. Those fortunate enough to know her often remembered her affectionately as “Momma Peach,” a testament to her nurturing and loving nature. Beyond her caregiving, Wanda found joy in crocheting and expressing her creativity through making and crafting lamps.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Levi and Clover; siblings, Kenneth Embrey, Billie Lou Gray, Larry Embrey, Linda Moore, Alice Berry, and Jerry Embrey; children, Charles Thompson, Jr., Gerald Lee Thompson, Cheryl Thompson, and Cynthia Thompson; grandson, Levi Thompson; son-in-law, Gary Lytle; sister-in-law, Susan.

Survivors include her children, Karen Lytle and Ira Keith Thompson both of Healdton; siblings, Dortha Lane of Washington, Frank Embrey and wife Sandy of Washington, and Wayne Embrey of California; grandchildren that she helped raise, Chase Hamman and Shilynn Cryer; other grandchildren, Bryan, Cody and wife Jessica, Eric, Misty, Shane, Korbyn, Tristin, and Christofer; nephew, Jim, many other grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
