Graveside service for Xylan Rain Wallace, 17, of Noble, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the New Velma Cemetery in Velma, Ok with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.

Xylan Rain, born on March 4, 2008, departed this world on February18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of vibrant and boundless enthusiasm that touched the lives of many.

Xylan was raised in Latta, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with accomplishments and cherished memories. He attended Latta Public School through the 8th grade, immersing himself in both academic and extracurricular pursuits. As he transitioned to high school at Paoli High School, Xylan distinguished himself as a dedicated student and athlete. He served as an officer in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) during his freshman year, showcasing his leadership abilities early on. His passion for sports was evident as he participated in football, basketball, track, and archery, earning numerous awards throughout his high school career. Academically, he was on track to be the Valedictorian of his class, a testament to his hard work and commitment to excellence. Beyond academics and athletics, Xylan had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, frequently sharing these experiences with a wide circle of friends, which spoke to his warm and engaging personality. Those who knew him recognized him as a spirited soul; he had a unique ability to frustrate others, but with his fun-loving personality, no one could ever stay mad at him for it. In recent years, Xylan was employed by the Chickasaw Toksali Smart Program, where he took immense pride in representing the Chickasaw Nation. His dedication to the community was reflected in his involvement in various initiatives, including receiving accolades for his artistic talent and success in photography contests. Xylan's time on this earth was marked by vibrant relationships and a commitment to personal growth and cultural pride. His legacy will live on in the hearts of the many friends and family who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of others.

Preceding him in death are his great grandfathers, Porter McDaniel and Everett Shackleford.

Survivors include his grandparents, Randy and Karla Shackleford of the home; great grandmothers, Sue McDaniel and Octavia Shackleford; sister, Zora Rose; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family, and a multitude of friends.

Honorary bearers are his past teammates and coaches on his high school football and basketball teams along with Coach John Jacobs.
